Richard "Jay" Edgar

Richard "Jay" Edgar grew up in Camden County and now resides in Upper Freehold Township. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University and a Master's Degree in Software Engineering at Monmouth University. He spent about ten years working as an electrical engineer before moving on to his current occupation as a Computer Scientist.

Jay is a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as the Scoutmaster to special needs Troop 454 and Associate Advisor to Venturing Crew 2515. He has been a volunteer scout leader for over 14 years. In July of 2003 he was an advisor to a crew of scouts that traveled to New Mexico to go backpacking.

He ran for congress in 2004 and Monmouth County Freeholder in 2001.

Jay enjoys riding his motorcycle, gardening, backpacking, and spending quality time with his two daughters, Allyson and Melissa.
