Ranger, Logistics Staff. Responsible for leading backpacking expeditions of 13 to 18 year old campers through the Philmont Wilderness. Taught low impact camping skills, map and compass skills, emergency procedures, first aid, environmental ethics, and other areas of interest. Worked to develop leadership and teamwork in the youth participants. Was trained and was on call 24 hours a day for mountain search and rescue operations.

Manager, Test Engineering. Managed entire Test effort for manufacturing of AN/SRQ-4 Radio Terminal Sets. Developed lower level, system level, ESS, and First Article test fixtures and procedures. Managed subcontracting of First Article Test Effort including environmental, EMI, and Tempest Testing of AN/SRQ-4 system. Designed and maintained test fixtures, programs, procedures for several torpedo defense contracts consisting of digital, analog, and RF signals. Fixtures and programs developed on HP3062, Genrad 2235LTS, and Tektronix GPIB test station. Developed tests based on SPARC computer in VME chassis using C and National Instruments LabView. Wrote LabView drivers in C for VME serial I/O and FDDI boards. Debugged embedded ADA code for 68020 and 68302 µprocessors for Navy TRE system

Senior Design Project - "Expert Systems in Anesthesia." Developed expert system capable of compiling incoming data on patients vital signs, process them with an efficient and functional algorithm, and display in easily readable format. Set up serial and analog I/O using RS-232 ports and A/D board. Wrote code in C to present compiled data. Became familiar with technical specifications of several medical monitors.

Co-op Engineer. Prepared circuit diagrams, wiring lists, flow charts, and viewgraph material for presentation to customer. Set up Intel 80286 based computer system running Intel's 286RMX operating system. Set up serial communications between components of system utilizing HP logic analyzer. Learned ADA programming language. Co-wrote Design Constraints Package and Prime Items Specification package for each component of Small ICBM Weapons Control System.

Owens-Illinois (Now NEG Glass), Pittston, PA
Co-op Engineer. Experimented with various grinding and polishing methods on glass television panels to obtain highest quality finish. Developed software to log downtime of machinery. Performed contour measurements of glass television panels for evaluation of mold problems. Evaluated efficiency of automated machinery. Wrote and revised algorithms to run automated machinery.


Activities and Achievements

Boy Scouts of America
Eagle Scout; I'm currently the Scoutmaster for special needs Troop 454 that meets in Freehold. I've been active in this troop for the past five years. I've been active in scouting for about 22 years (most of my life!) in numerous capacities as a youth and adult leader.
